Associate Scientist

The Associate Scientist position will be responsible for assisting in the scientific problem-solving and experimental design of project for clients that need the analytical and biological testing services of ARL.  This individual will report to the Scientific Director and assist with training of in-house technical personnel to improve their ability to solve scientific problems and address technical issues.  The individual in this position will be exposed to a diverse number of scientific issues and problems and will need to possess good problem solving abilities.  They will interact with multiple departments and personnel and be responsible for the facilitating and overseeing of many small projects. The Associate Scientist will also be required to write summary reports from analytical data, write grants, publications and occasionally present at meetings.  Within 18 months of employment, they will be required to be supported by a grant collaborating with outside academic, institutional or industry partners. 

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a biological, chemical or pharmaceutical science field.  Ideally, they will have post-doctorial training in some area of related research.  This individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Sales (Manager/Representative) Laboratory Testing Services

This position is responsible for sales of Analytical Research Laboratories’ (ARL’s) testing services.  The incumbent will be responsible for booking new sales as well as maintaining and servicing ARL’s existing clients.  ARL’s offerings include technical and problem-solving capabilities supported by state-of-the-art analytical testing services. ARL’s headquarters are located in Oklahoma City with clients nationwide.

The focus of the incumbent’s work is directed towards compounding pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry.  This individual will be responsible for generating, facilitating and tracking quotes of complex work for these clients.  Activities will include client contact through face-to-face sales calls, trade shows, phone calls and emails.  Extensive travel is required in this full time position. 

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience within the pharmacy/pharmaceutical industries and will understand its technical needs.  The ideal individual should have solid contacts and relationships with pharmacies and/or small to large pharmaceutical companies; having contacts in the medical device industry is a plus. This individual must work in a professional manner and have good problem-solving abilities.  The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate well with all clients.  The successful candidate will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in pharmacy, biology or chemical discipline, (or related work experience) and have experience interacting with people at all levels of an organization. 

The salary is negotiable and commensurate with the candidate’s experience, background and capabilities.  The compensation includes a base salary, an additional commission structure and bonus.  The company provides an excellent and competitive benefits package.
