Director of Business Development

DNA Solutions is seeking a visionary and market-driven individual. Candidate will have expertise in managing and expanding existing services. This will also include developing new services in genetics and/or forensics to grow the company’s business.  The Director of Business Development will report directly to the CEO, and be responsible for the overall management of the Company’s business development. The Company is seeking an individual with a background in the area of biological sciences, with a proven ability in growing a business.

DNA Solutions, Inc.currently provides genetic-based services for paternity and forensic testing in humans and animals. This includes sire confirmation, genotype registry, DNA banking and forensic identification. The Company also maintains research and development expertise in the area of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) detection, DNA sequencing for human and animal identification.  DNA Solutions is interested in offering services in the areas of pharmacogenomics and human genetic and clinical testing.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the Company’s goals.
• Manage multiple business opportunities within a growing company environment.
• Sets the Company’s strategic direction for expansion into new markets for genetic-based testing opportunities.
• Help implement, manage and identify new opportunities with a competent team of scientific and technical individuals. 
• Responsible for new revenue generation and growth through the development of strategic partnerships.
• Build and manage a strong business development and marketing team.
• Through personal example, establish the style and approach which characterizes the Company’s core values.

Requirements:
This position requires an individual who can identify new markets and service opportunities for the Company. This individual will actively lead the business development function in an effective, aggressive manner, as a member of the senior management team.

• Five plus years in a business development-type function.
• A solid track record of expanding and leading new business development opportunities in this field.
• A good working knowledge of the products, competitors, technologies, and contacts in these markets.
• A degree in molecular biology, human genetics or related field; an advanced degree and experience in clinical diagnostics is a plus.
